    Interac mountain bike commercial

Who is the actress (looks kinda asian) in this commercial, where she beats some guy while out on the trails, with the little Interac truck following? Is she an athlete on the racing circuit or just some fitness-oriented actress? Anyone know?

I think I read a post on these forums that had a talent agency looking for actors for this commercial?

While you fellas ponder who the talented cyclist is, I'm curious where this is. I'm pretty certain it's Kelso. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Explained by the wheel size, which looks like a 2.9er. Any vehicles with wheel size designations that are composed of the digits 2 and 9 are faster, regardless of where the decimal place lies.

Her name is Danice Uyesugi. She is a professional rider, though she seems to audition for a lot of commercial slots. I saw her at a milk audition and she was quite rude to the other female riders there. While she was a better rider than the rest of the girls (none of them were pro riders), I was surprised to find out that she was a pro rider. Okay rider - bad attitude..

Implying Louda doesn't have skills is not banter even if you put a smiley face and disclaimer.

Either way, Danice did a great job. Awesome commercial!

    Pretty sure it is.

When they make that first turn into trail I think that is the entrance into Corkscrew of the road.

The one bridge over the creek with the waterfalls looks like somewhere on Fromme.

If it was filmed in N.Van there is likely reference to is on NSMB somewhere. Someone with mad internet skillz could likely find out...

Sorry it took so long, I was out for a while

Dangerous Dan, our Inside Man! - Pinkbike.com Google Fu!

Danger sent us this note regarding the "Enjoy the Weather" Nike Commercial starring Lance Armstrong --

"So to set the record straight. You could say Bjorn Enga was a kind of assistant director and he did all the helmet/bike cam work. I was Lance's double i.e. all the pictures of Lance ripping the woods is actually me. One version of the commercial - the long version (1 min) actually has a nice ass shot of me at the very end (be sure to check it out ladies).
Other riders in the pack were "Super T" Tyler Klassen (the star of Digger's latest NSX 5 "Lights Out"), Andrew Shandro, Sterling Lawrence, Ian Hylands, and James Wilson from Dizzy Cycles in North Van. It was a total blast ripping around on the trails with those bikes! I did one stunt (riding across the log). Although there was padding to fall on, it was still an eight foot drop or so and it was freezing cold rain topped with a really narrow line, tons of people watching, having to wait for five minutes for the cue, and a road bike with skinny little tires. I rode it 3 times and Shandro rode it once. We both got our "stunt adjustment" - it was all good."

It turns out the Bjorn Enga worked on Nike/Armstrong commercials back in 2002, so he likely turned them on to the North Van location

i think the person who had the better skill set for the job got the job. therefore the person who didn't get the job had less skills (never said no skills)...

as a person who has hired hundreds of people the skill set is a key feature of my hiring decisions.

dh'ers/freeriders/dirt jumpers/bmxer's generally have a greater skill set when it comes to catching air . where xc'ers have a greater skill set at climbing...

I don't know what you're talking about... have you seen the commercial?

The commercial didn't really have much to do with skill set. It was all about looks and if you had a moderate ability to ride. The audition was a joke. Rode a total of 2 minutes down a hill and up a hill. And then it was all about how you "looked" on camera while "purchasing" something with your interac card.

Was agreeing with you. Back when I DH ski raced we didn't pay attention to XC racers and the same from them. Just the nature of of it all... XC where 3 hour events while we ours lasted maybe 2 minutes.

    Okay.. I'm old.

I recall the first ad I ever saw on TV with mountain biking. Around 1991 Kokanee ran one with long haired Ron Hawes.. BC Cup racer. Riding logs, wheelie drops, and log hops. If I recall it was a Off Road Toad he was riding as he was sponsored by Mountain and Beach.

Ever since all have paled in comparison.
