Horseshoe Resort DH Updates, Hours, Events etc

    Hey guys!

It's been an interesting few months since opening the bike park on July 1. We are still in our infancy and have got a lot of great feedback about the park. We try to meet everyone that comes out and talk to them, valuing their opinion on what we can offer them to maximize their experience. For that, we can't thank you enough! We depend on the support of the community and so far it's been great.

That said, I have to unfortunately announce the resort has decided to trim back operating hours for the entire Adventure Park and that includes the bike park. Our new hours are as follows:

    Friday 4pm-Dusk, Saturday 10am-Dusk, Sunday 10am-6pm.

Last day of operation: Oct 31 - We will be having a best costume event I hope.

We are open in the wet!

    Events:

Sept 25th - "Hotdogs and Handlebars" Rider Appreciation Day

Come out and meet the trail crew and enjoy a bbq as well as some other goodies. Submit formal feedback for the resort to evaluate and just hang out and do some riding. Photographers are welcome, come shoot your buddies off the big drop!

    Thanks guys!

Oct 31, just added that in the post.

HOPEFULLY they don't close sooner, though.

You guys have done a great job, and the fact it's right across the street makes me want to hand in the XC bike. You have an awesome mix of terrain on your 5, I mean 4, trails.

Entry fee for the Oct 2/3 event is .......?

Saw the wife take a nice spill on the new bike on Sunday, I wonder if she told you...

I am still waiting on hearing final pricing and small details will roll out once I get them.

If she could recruit some girls to enter that would be fantastic, equal prizing for men/women classes.

NICE!! First question I asked was if SHE was ok, then ran over to my bike. She is real sore today with a massive bruise on her thigh, knee and neck. According to her the grass was on fire from how fast she was going.

Lots of the ladies ride in the neighbourhood, and I know she'll be interested, so I'll get the word out.

Seriously though, I'm very impressed with Horseshoe's MTB operation, thanks Stefan and any others that had a hand in making it all happen and cutting some super fun trails.

I'm hoping to be back again before they shut down for the season and really hope we see them at the Spring bike show !!

Trail 4 is a solid jump run. 7 in a row. Ladder gap, hip over a log, booter through trees, big drop into big step-up down into a hip then another hip.

Also, the trail your picture is from has a new drop as well

But then you'd be on the long list of people who owe me something, not sure what that is, nor am I sure I'll ever get it.

Doesn't fit in custom frames anyway, unless you were trying to mimic the trusty SC design......

First visit to Horseshoe yesterday and very happy with what these guys have accomplished!
With little vert to work with they have been able to jam in a little bit for everyone. Ya short runs but a short lift ride back up! repeat as many time as necessary and you'll get your mileage in. Well built, good flow, multi line options and shhhh, the ability to get really airborne (take that Boo Mtn).
Good times, 4 hours $20 cheap! Anyone that hasn't been should try to make a trip this fall.
Meet Stefan and the guys, thanks for your efforts here.

Woulda loved to attend but was a single parent for part of the day so it was a no-go. I hope there was a good turnout!

My next DH play day is scheduled for the 8th as a group of us are trying to arrange a trip up there to sample some of your finest wood work

What a great day at Horseshoe, finally saw the end result of trail 4 work, woah ... it'll take me a while to get it in my head, for some reason I find that step up after the drop is weirding me out with the small retainer wall.

I loved the new drop on 3, took me a few minutes to look it over and get it in my head but what a rush, you can get some pretty good air off that thing!

We met up with quite a good group of folks today making for the perfect fall DH day, everyone was having a great time pushing their limits. Finally a place to ride that lets riders progress a bit more in the stunts department

Come celebrate the last day of the season! Look like an idiot and best costume wins an X-Fusion Vector shock!! Possibly a BBQ and survey taking, as well as good times to be had.
