    Hardtail around $1000 Voodoo

I realize $1000 will only get me an entry level bike but have been looking at the Voodoo Bizango as it seems to pack a lot in for the price point. Priorities for me are:

Trail geometry (no xc / racing)
Decent fork preferably 120mm (realizing this is a big ask at the price point, suntour raidon is likely as good as it gets?)
    1x drivetrain
    Deore or similar if possible

I understand the possible need for compromise.

Voodoo seems to check most of these boxes. I've sent several emails to Voodoo over the past few weeks but have not heard back. Anyone know of a distributor or lbs in Ontario that could help me get my hands on one?

Also interested if there are comparable options that I may have overlooked and (importantly) are also available in Ontario.

I've also looked at the Vitus Nucleus. Problem with both Voodoo and Vitus is that they need to be imported (seemingly). The value in these bikes seem to erode if I'm paying an additional 13 percent in duties. Only direct to consumer bikes in Canada seem to be higher end and out of my budget.

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

I picked up a Marin Bobcat Trail 5 from my lbs in Barrie for 999 in Feb (2019 model). Has everything youíre looking for (1x, 120mm travel, hardtail, Deore mech). The 2020ís are 1249 CAD msrp and unfortunatelyy lbs is all sold out for the season they expect. So you may have to wait until stock comes back and you could find a great deal in the winter.

Is your $1000 budget just for a frame or a complete bike? Looking at voodoo's website it seems the Bizango $1,095 price is Frame only.

    Available Build Kits
    Frame (includes thru-axles & seattube collar): $1,095
    E1 Complete Bike: $5,095
    E2 Complete Bike: $3,595
Also they haven't posted anything on their FB or Twitter since 2018. It appears to be vaporware.
-Flat Bars, Flat Pedals, Flat Saddle, and frequently Flat Tires.

    Complete bike.

    1249.00 msrp but again I picked up a 2019 trail 5 for 999. It was a steal.
