    Fall riding in Muskoka

Feel free to post your fall colours riding pics here. The foliage is just starting to pop up here and should be peaking within the next two weeks. Algonquin Park is already pretty nice. So come on up and ride Buckwallow, Porcupine Ridge, Torrance Barrens or your favourite logging road, snowmo trail or secret singletrack.

A variety of things (including the weather) have prevented me from getting out on a bike as much as usual this season. Yesterday presented an opportunity so I took advantage of it. After cutting half the lawn and vacuuming half the house, I loaded up the truck and headed down to Encino's house, in mid-Muskoka. Encino often talks about the legendary trails on his home turf, so I thought it was about time I checked them out. And what fine trails they are! Over the years, Encino and other locals have created a really cool singletrack ride through across and down a beautiful ridge of mixed forest. We rode the "Buffalo Soldier" and then looped back into some summer camp trails. I had no idea where we where at any point on the ride. No Strava. No map.

As I mentioned, the trail follows a ridge. EncinoHQ is at the bottom of said ridge so there is an uphill start:

A lovely open granite section, reminiscent of certain areas at Buckwallow:

Encino checks the handy iPhone map. The trails in the summer camp were a bit vague:
