Car-mad Italians trading four wheels for two - The Globe and Mail

This headline caught my eye. While the pinkbike article reminds us of the common sense aspect that many of us associate with Europe, you never hear much about cycling in the two biggest auto-worshipping economies: Italy and Germany. It's always France this, Netherlands that, UK here and there. I always thought it particularly odd in the case of Italy, which has always been known for high-end bikes, and continues to be to this day.

In other news, family-man Sultan Ahmed received 2 years less a day for his road rage crime, even though he said the cyclist was the aggressor (according to his interpreter anyway). That means the attorney-general's case has NOT set a legal precendent in Ontario which is a huge win for cyclists. Meanwhile, I'm going to keep wearing my helmet for the time being, and what I really want is a Gopro cam to go with it.
