    Blue Mountain biking questions

I've never been but will be going up for a few days with family and friends. Not sure if my road or mountain bike is coming up with me. Got a few questions about the XC and Downhill trails.

I'm still a beginner at mountain biking. Just wondering how are the trails up there? Are there easy and XC trails that I would be able to bring some friends along with?

How about the downhill? Would I need a full downhill bike to try some of the easier trails? I have a Rocky mountain vertx, definitely not a downhill bike. Could I use that or would I have to rent? I obviously would have to rent the full helmets and other gear.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

There are XC trails that you can ride and some easy DH trails.

You should be fine on any bike, some people ride up there on hardtails.

Just take your time and enjoy it.

Can you ride up? I wrote to Blue and asked...and never received a response. If you never got on a lift...I assume it's still the same $$$$?

you can ride up on some xc trails, not sure which ones.
There are some xc loops up top, but no xc down trails. They have green (beginner) level DH trails going down, i havent ridden them personally but i would gather you should be ok on an xc bike. The gondola is free on the way down. Blue is really about dh IMO, they have pretty good rentals, i would rent one and hit the blue trails for some fun. I think blue trails may be a bit much on an xc bike unless you really want to push it
