Bikepacking around Barrie, Ontario this summer

I got into some Bikepacking trips around my home in Barrie using a Cannondale Fat CAAD 2 as my platform. As my first foray into both fat biking and bike packing it has been an overall success and I have had tons of fun on this bike--and it hasn't even started snowing yet! The Fat tires are great for this area as we have a huge network of snowmobile and ATV trails that see little use--the snowmobile trails in particular tend to be quite sandy, so the high flotation of the 4.8" Schwalbes comes in handy. I run them around 8-9 psi unless I am on the gravel roads a lot, in which case I will boost the psi to around 11. Any higher than that produces a harsh ride along with a strange sounding hollow balloon sound from the huge tubeless tires! For sand I drop right to 5 psi.

I am refining my gear with each outing and will likely upgrade some of the gear in the spring. Planning on a Revelate frame bag and some sort of seat pack.

Sooo jealous! Wish we had terrain like that close to me here in Ohio. I would love to do the fall/winter bikepacking thing but work makes it hard to find the time...need to hit the lotto
