    Bicycle blowout sale

    Hi,

Iím looking at getting a new mountain bike. Iíve been looking at the best time to buy and there are differing opinions. Some say late Aug. others say in March during the bike show, as LBS are also looking to clear out older stock.
While doing this research I came across a bicycle blowout sale in Toronto at the EX. Itís a one day sale Oct 13th. Has anyone been to one of these previously? Is it worth the admission price?

im looking at spending around $1500.00 so any deals would be great.

    Thanks

The clearance show is hit and miss. There are good deals to be had if you are open to different models of bikes in the same category. If you go looking for one exact model you might be disappointed. Its important to know what size you need and a few models that you would be happy going home with. I usually go every other year and have found good deals on some items such as clothing helmets and hi end bicycles but bad deals on other things. Also a lot of bike shops will have sales leading up to the bike show to try and clean out their inventory without going to the show.

I ended up going to have a look and ended up with a new Specialized Rockhopper pro. Decent price of $1100.00. I got there a 9am (doors open at 10) and there was approx 100 people already in front of me. By the time the doors opened the line up went around the building. There were a lot of bikes on display.
Judging by all the people walking around with one, Iím going to assume there were good deals to be had.

I stayed away from accessories as they were mostly in bins and were 3 or 4 people deep.

I was impressed with the service (bike depot) as they even took the time to go over each bike and fit each person with their new purchase.

I thought it was a pretty good show and another huge turnout. I parked at 945 and made the long walk to the back of the line. I also saw the rockhoppers at Bike Depot and thought they were good deals.

I was glad there wasn't a massive enslaught of ebikes taking up lots of space.

This show had a lot more fatbikes than I've seen in years past. I ended up snagging a Fatboy for a great deal. Accessory deals weren't as great as I had hoped.

I went to the show looking for fat bikes because places where I ride in the winter (Albion Hills and Hardwood) no longer let you ride normal size tires. I have been considering the Rocky Mountain Suzi Q 70 for a while, because I want something lighter.

And then I came across the top of the line Suzi Q 90 RSL (this is a 25.7lb bike). I simply could not walk away from the deal - 4100 with tax. Crazy!Bicycle blowout sale-img_1955.jpgBicycle blowout sale-img_1956.jpg

I saw that nice looking ride but my budget was no where that high for my very first fat bike. Nice pickup....what is MSRP on that?
