    Swapping crank arms on Hammerschmidt

Does anyone know or has successfully swapped AM>FR or FR>AM crank arms on their Hammerschmidt? I am running issues of the AM crankarm hitting the seat stay and would like to change to the FR crankarm (increased Q-factor) without having to buy the whole system. I already have the required BB.

I just want to know if it is as easy as swapping them w/o anything other than the BB.

    Thanks in advance.

LoL, it's fine. I pretty much got my answer. Called SRAM technical service, forgot the person who helped me but was very helpful and gave me the info I needed.

Bottom line: Uzzi, 951, and now discontinued SS "ONLY RECOMMENDS USING Hammerschmidt FR"

Also, FR crank arms are drop-in replacements on the mechanism assembly as long as you have the compatible Bottom Bracket. Everything bolts up. FYI the FR crankarms has an increase q-factor of 8mm total, meaning outboard 4mm on each side. That helps me a lot with clearance.

    For reference: http://www.sram.com/_media/pdf/truva...al-English.pdf

I ordered my FR 170mm crank arms and can't wait to get them on.

I'd be interested in knowing if the crank arms can be replaced by other non-Hammerschmidt arms. It looks like the drive-side crank would need to have a 4x70mm attachment. This seems smaller than the attachment on most cranks though...

Dynamicz > Do you still have the AM crank arms and would you like to sell them? PM me if it's the case. Thanks!
