stripped thread on Raceface carbon crank

I installed a left side flat pedal improperly causing partial stripping of thread.

Is there a way to restore the thread groves?
can bike shop send it out for repair?

Run a tap through it before committing to expensive repairs.

If the threads aren't jacked too bad, you can thread a left pedal in from behind the crank arm where the threads are still good and use it to straighten the threads. Use a pedal that has long enough threads to come through the crank arm. Grease well.

The pedal spindle will reform the threads. A tap might work, but it will remove material. If you use a tap, run it in from behind the crank arm so it is guided by the good threads.
    Do the math.

Yes, a good shop will have both taps, left and right.

If it's too far gone to sort out with a tap, have a Heli-Coil installed. Not all shops will offer that, but I just had one done at my LBS and it was $35US. That's a lot less than replacing some crank arms.

A helicoil is great if done properly. It's the properly part that can be tricky. I fixture the crank in a drill press or milling machine to ensure the bores and threads wind up straight and true.
    Do the math.
