    SRAM XG-1199 XX1 Cassette advice

What is the word on this cassette for a fatbike? Do they wear well? I bought a new XT 8000 but it's kinda heavy, and its new un-used so thinking of selling it and getting one of these and save nearly 1/2 pound.

Not worth it. It'll wear just as fast as X01

And it's cheaper than the XO1, so your point is what, exactly?

I am confused, are these junk? I wish XTR was 11-42.
I can get one of these 1199's for $200 right now.

    No, they are great.

    Why would you think otherwise?

I read some on line reviews that the coating came off the black ones, (1195, 1180) but this one isn't coated so i was checking. There was also comments that they weaR quickly, so I was just confirming that they have reasonable wear before i go dropping 2X the Money on one when the XT8000 I already have will last longer.

I'm only seeing 160 grams difference, on a fatbike I'd roll with the xt for sure.

That's a good point. Unless it's a full carbon fat bike dipping into the low-20s, and you're REALLY interested in squeezing every last drop out of it, I'd go XT, or GX if you have an XD freehub.

Was not aware the xx1 was cheaper than the X01. Sure go for it then. But the wear rate is not better than the other imo.

    SRAM XG-1199 XX1 Cassette advice

And so has my X01. But if you can find it cheaper than an X01 then it makes no sense not to buy it other than color. Retail price wise though I think it's not worth it

That IS a retail price through a very well known US vendor. Under $200, all told.

Xx1 retail goes for over $400. What you are finding is an exceptional deal, not retail.

Look around, pretty easy to find them in the low $200 range and with Active Junky refund of 10-12% cash back, you can get into the high $100's.

Uh, Competitive Cyclist and Backcountry are retailers. Therefore, their prices are most definitely "retail".

They are selling XX1 cassettes for $229. 12% off if that is under $202.

Hardly an "exceptional deal", as anyone with an internet connection can locate such things. And they've been at those price points for a few months now.

    SRAM XG-1199 XX1 Cassette advice

Guys, I'm not saying that I can't find the deals you're talking about but if you look at SRAMs website for the cost of the xx1 in comparison to the x01 it's stupid to buy xx1. I said before if you find a deal then why not buy xx1.

Edit: this thread started with no deals no prices, straight xx1 comparison so I have to default to what sram prices their products.

I don't define that as a "deal"; those prices have been similar to what they are now for quite some time now.

Now, when BC goes up to 14% cash back from time to time, and also offers a 10% off coupon on sale items? That's a deal.

Back to the matter at hand, did you figure out what you want to do?

Our friendly debate on what retail is has nothing to do with your question...
