    SRAM X01 11-Speed X-HORIZON™ Rear Derailleur compatible with sram 10 speed ?

I'm in need of a new R.D., I currently use Sram xo 10 speed and would like to stay with 10 speed for now. I can see going to Sram 11 speed on my next build this summer...Question, will XO 11 speed R.D. work with my 10 speed shifters ??

    Thx.

i'm gonna say yes it will work. as long as the rd can handle the cassette range, shouldn't be a problem. an obvious example would b trying to use a 7-speed derailleur on a 10-speed cassette..just doesn't have the range, but in your case it has greater range than needed. shifters must match cassettes though as they have differing pulls.

hopefully someone will correct if i'm wrong about a 11-speed rd.

If you are running it 1x10, look into the XO-1 DH derailleur that was designed for 10 speed.

The xo1 dh max rear cog is 28t. I know with shimano you could push the limits about 4 teeth. With sram I do not have any idea. 36t is a long way from 28t. Would someone drop the $280 and get the derailleur in question and tests its limits

come to think of it, a cx1 deralleur will handle a 36t and work with 10 speed shifters.
