Race Face Deus XC Crank bolt STUCK

Currently have a bolt extractor stuck in the darn thing and still can't get it to budge. (The Allen head threads stripped)

Anyone else ever experience this and/or any suggestions? Bike shops wouldn't touch it.

Extractor is stuck or broken off?
Is the bolt on that steel or aluminum - I see from the instructions it is a 15mm thread.

Extractor is in there good but I think I could get it out. Bolt must be steel because I've beat on that thing like no other and it hasn't budged a bit. 15mm sounds right.

Looking at the instructions for that crank, the bolt appears to have a "top hat" look to it. Since the extractor obviously didn't work, I think I'd get the extractor out and keep drilling with larger and larger bits into the top hat until you can break that flange off. That should both relieve the tension on the threads and let you remove the crank. Might be easy to remove then.
If the bolt goes through, you could try running some penetrating oil into the hollow spindle. Also, you could try holding a big soldering iron against the bolt for a couple minutes and then trying the extractor again.

I've tried the lubricating oil but have not tried your other suggestions. I appreciate your help Slash and will give those ideas a shot. Thanks!

Drilled two different times for about 45 minutes each time. I don't know what Race Face makes those bolts out of but I've shaved only about 1mm off each time.

Looking into different drill bits but at $10-$12 a bit I keep thinking there might be another way......?

I'm going to beat this thing - I just didn't realize how tough it was.

Don't suppose there is enough access to the bolt to cut a slot in it with a Dremel and use an impact driver. Bit may not be large enough to span the cutout for the Allen socket.

Going to see if my brother in law can help with some of his additional tools - I just can't believe this thing won't budge at all. Must have misaligned threads or something. Thanks again Slash.
