    Polished Aluminum SRAM crank arms

I've seen several posts showing polished Shimano cranks, but have yet to see Sram cranks striped and polished. Has anyone done this?

    Funny.
Just yesterday I was thinking the same.
I'm looking for a new crankset and a polished GX Eagle somehow got stuck in my head.

I did it a while back with some sram road cranks. If you want a high polish finish its gonna be hard with the mountain cranks. The media blast finish they use before anodizing them means youd have to polish that smooth. Just removing the black anodizing and having matte raw aluminum would be easy though.

I've polished cranks a few times before, and a good amount of different components.
The problem with raw polished aluminium is that everything leaves scratches on it, even if you just look at it wrong. If you washed your bike with with a towel or a sponge you would need to go over the cranks with a microfiber towel and some polishing paste to maintain the finish. It also oxidises super easily. You touch it and your fingerprint oxidises almost instantly.
Personally I wouldn't bother with it. If you want something different other than the stock finish get it anodized. You could get a clear anodized finish, although I don't think it's as shiny as a polished finish.

Maybe you could clearcoat it, i'm not sure. I've read mixed results.
