    Hi-LO gear loss going 1x11

What gearing setup are people comparing the loss to from switching from a 2x setup? Currently running a 24/36 granny trying to figure out if 32/40 or 42 would be same or slightly easier gear.
Wait whuuut, who did he tell you that!?!?....

Neither, you would need to go to 28/42 to equal the low gear you have now.

Yikes. Really....up til recently been on a 30/11-36 1x setup. I rode a bike for a bit that had a 26/36 granny felt like that's as low as I'd want to grind from here on out @ 58 years young. Really have been enabled by the simplicity of the 1x(also ~50/50 singlespeed use). Ugh. Mehbe I should stick with my 2x.

*Edit-Or what about oval rings, any experiences on them giving true benefits of matching dropping a couple teeth off of a standard ring?
