    Granny Sucks, Reverse?

I have my doubts but wondering if anyone tried reversing a worn ring?

If the teeth are not offset you will be fine. I have done it several times. If there is offset you should probably just spend the 15 bucks.

thanks, it's a 20t and I've got plenty of 22s but I'm soft and want to run it with the new chain until the replacement arrives. Starting up the hill yesterday sucked having to go home and change the chain.

I run hard to get 20 t grannys as well. I've rotated them 180 degrees so that the teeth that were on the top peddle stroke with little wear are now on the down stroke where teeth were worn. lots of life left.

Do you mean 90? The crank arms are 180 apart so rotating a ring 180 wouldn't make a change in placement relative to the pedals/cranks/power stroke.

Yeah....180 wouldn't work unless one leg was substantially stronger than the other

That reminds me my mechanically challenged mother used to say (she was apt to repeat things) she had a stronger left leg because she always wore the left cotter pin
Anyway I flipped the ring and it plays nice with the new chain.

Well yeah, meant that I rotated the ring one chainring crank arm space. that is 90*

Obvious that I wasn't a math major, ha.
