Good chain length for Shimano XTM8000?

    Hey Guys,

I am in the process of installing XT M8000 drivetrain on a Niner hard tail.

Based off all the operational feedback of this newish drivetrain, is 2+ links still good (biggest cog to single ring)?

    Thanks!
    G

Just don't round down. Even if you get close, but not quite a 2 link overlap its generally better to round up to 4 IME. I also like to check how it looks in the small cog before cutting the chain.

You need to be careful of chain growth too... I don't know if my bike (Evil Following) has a lot of chain growth compared to others, but it made a huge difference in setting my b-tension and chain length. I had to back out the B screw ~4 full turns when setting it in the stand vs setting it at 30% sag.

Don't think chain growth will be a problem
