We the people ... Do I need to lengthen my chain?

Just installed a 11-40 Praxis rear cassette on my XTC...From the pics I think I need to add a few links, but not sure..can anyone let me know? Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

Also, what is the proper way to determine chain length on a 1x drivetrain? I cannot seem to find any info on it.

Yes. Wrap the chain from the large cog - around the chainring without going through the derailleur, add 2 links, and install.
I got some bad ideas in my head.

Bonus points; if the bike has rear suspension then let the air out of the rear shock and verify that the length you chose works through the entire rear travel.

Just saw that the XTC is a hardtail, never mind!
