Crankset help to go with XT M8000

So the wife has just came home with a few bits as a Christmas gift to me.

    XTR M9000 11sp shifter
    XT M8000 11sp RD
XT M8000 11sp rear Cassette and chain.

So anyone want to recommend me a good Crankset to go with this?

I have a few ideas in my head but just thought I'd ask incase I've missed anything.

Should I stick to the M8000 or save a bit more for the M9000 (is it worth the extra) or go with somthing like Race Face cranks and an oval chainring?

    Thanks.

    We the people ...

    Maybe you want to consider:

    - With reference to the (NDS) crank arm / spindle interface, Shimano's clamp-on design to me seems smarter than the press-on / pull-off designs of most other brands (though crank pullers often are integrated, you still usually need a big allen key for those while Shimano requires only a tiny 5 mm key). I have a FC-M980* for some 5 years and do like the ease of (dis-)assembly.

    - With reference to the spindle / ball bearing interface, plastic sleeve designs to me seem smarter than any metal-on-metal design. (Again, the Shimano FC-M980* is great in this respect as the spindle sits firmly in the plastic sleeves but though no mallet is required to pull out the spindle.)

    - With reference to the chain ring / DS crank arm interface, I am not happy with the fact that Shimano have created this new asymmetrical 4-Arm design (which is not compatible with chain ring designs which were in place).

*) To my knowledge FC-M8000, FC-M9000 and FC-M980 are similar in design with respects to the points mentioned.

    - In any case find out what kind of BB shell your frame has and which BB type is required (and whether the crank set of your choice will fit in).
