11 Speed DT-Swiss Freehub with 10 Speed Cassette?

First off, forgive my ignorance. I'm a dirt bike guy recently getting into mountain biking so I have a lot to learn. Searched the Internet and forums and couldn't find an answer to my questions.

I bought some WTB STI23 TCS wheels that have DT Swiss 350 hubs on them. They were from a 1x11 setup. The freehub part the cassette mounts to looks like this.

The ones I've seen look like this where the cogs slip on.

I want to run a 10 speed cassette (I've read you need two spacers to do so) but don't see how it's going on the 11 speed free-hub. Do I need to change out the free-hub? It looks as if there are threads where I could screw an adapter on the 11 speed maybe? I really don't know. Any help is appreciated.

    You can't.
You need to get dt swiss 10s freehub to do so.

Road bikes have a freehub like your second picture for 11-speed. It's a little longer, but the splines are the same.

The first picture is a new driver SRAM came up with for their 11-speed system.

I have DT 350 hubs myself, but with a 8-10-speed freehub. Just buying that and swapping it out would be the easiest.

Thank you for the quick reply. Will any 8-10 speed freehub work or does it need to be DT Swiss specific? If not, could you recommend one?
