I won't be taking home that Canfield frame. It will be the one thats most in need of a pimp new F1!
Brian- after the event we can pimp out the site with some nice NEW photos of all the sickness that is sure to go down. What do you think of the site photos? It's all inbounds, everything in the photo is now included in the Virgin Freeride Area. Cool hu!

it's wierd for you, you are in the no-mans land. you either have to take a bunch of 2 lane roads or go like 300 miles out of the way to stay on major freeways....

ps- zoin = virgin, you know how to get there....

I kind of figured as much but wasn't sure if I was on the way from chico or not. I prefer desolate 2 laners any day.

I just did that drive from Tahoe back to St. George. I've been in Tahoe since last Thursday, and got home last night. The drive took 9 hours going up, and 10 hours coming home. The two way highway kind of sucked, but not much traffice the whole way.

I just mapped out both routes to virgin that looked plausible and they're both right at around 600 miles total. So yeah.....10 hours sounds about right. I do 7-8 down to bootleg a few times during the winter so it's not too much farther. Thanks for the info.

If you're going to sound all tuff and stuff you need something better than what every frat boy on the planet tells pledges during rush week. I thought you gave up that life for the gangsta phonetic scene.

sorry, don't know much about teh frat scene. I kinda missed out on that part of life. Maybe you can fill me in some time on your old frat days. Now that i think about it, you do seem kinda like one of those clownz i see walkin around Chico. I just wanna see one of those gnarlin vert sky wheelies in Virgin.

Some BMX comps are doing it now...
The Super T you have is really a very good fork. I'd take that fork over a Fox 40 or a Boxer unless i was entering a fashon contest instead of a race

Anybody know what the layout will be like? Camping is onsite, right? As in once I get there I don't need my car? (provided I've got enough booze)

Yes , camping right there plus there is other camping within five minutes of the site. There will be a band on Saturday night and dinner included with registration. We will be showing the video footage from the day so you can see what everyone else was up to and riders voting for prizes. Can't forget about free massages from SWAHA plus all this stuff...

    From Zion Freerider...

This is a festival - nothing too early! Some of us like our zzzz's.

We're working on the schedule and will have something on the site this weekend.

But if you gotta know now, here's the skinny...

Breakfast available starting @ 7ish. Yup - there's gonna be grub available for purchase right there on site when you're ready to start the day.

Morning sessions & Monkey shuttles starting @ 9ish.

Lunch break - Same gig as breakfast, but different stuff of course.

Afternoon sessions & Monkey shuttles starting @ 1 or 2ish.

    * You'll get to pick different zones for am & pm, just so ya don't get bored.

Oh, and then of course p-a-a-h-t-a-y into the pm.

Plus we have something xtra cool planned for Sunday afternoon.

    Stay tuned for more info...

    Cheers!

The website says it's limited to 100 spectators due to BLM constraits...

But why spectate when you can participate! I won't be doing any 30 footers (or 20 footers) but I'm sure it'll be a blast. Looks like there'll be something for everybody.

    Specating?

    Quote Originally Posted by maxrhul

Here's the "official" scoop on spectating at the event...

Because of BLM restrictions, only 250 people are allowed on the course. We think its important to make as many spaces available to riders as possible. If you add media, staff, EMT's, volunteers, etc. there isn't much room for spectators. So, if you're coming out to play, PLEASE REGISTER, even if you'll mostly be spectating or taking pix. We won't be allowed to permit more than 250 people on the course. We'd like to pull the event off without breaking a bunch of BLM rules this first year, and hopefully can work with them to allow more people next year.

The base expo area is outside the BLM zone, for those who exceed the limit and still want to hang out, but if you're not registered as a rider or media or staff, you will be limited to hanging out at the base (there's a BMX course there too) and you might be able to buy a flying monkey shuttle or two.

The $ is well worth it. We're paying for dinner at Sat night's party, have tons of great prizes to raffle (including a Canfield Formula 1 frame, tons of gear, tires, etc.etc.etc.) free massages, and you even get a t-shirt in the deal!

If you've been procrastinating, we haven't closed registration yet. But it looks like we'll be full by the end of the week! There's a link to Active.com on our site. www.zionfreeridefestival.com.

    We're psyched for the weekend!
    Hope to see you there!
