    X-post: RIP Mark Reynolds

Me and some buddies were wondering why the medical delay on saturday was so long, we heard rumors but this is it.

San Jose mountain biker Mark Reynolds, 48, died after his bicycle crashed during the Sea Otter Classic competition at Laguna Seca Raceway on Saturday, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office reported. Deputies said that around 12:30 p.m., Reynolds, an experienced competitor, failed to negotiate a narrow wooden bridge and crashed into a dirt embankment, suffering head and neck injuries. Reynolds was taken by helicopter to Natividad Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The coroner's office plans to conduct an autopsy on Monday to determine exact cause of death. Officials with the race said it was the first death in the event's 17-year history.

Thoughts go out to his family.

I run his guide on all my bikes and without a doubt nothing works better.

He always provided great customer service and follow through. Definitely the type of person the industry needs more of, not less.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
