why do we mountain bikers always drink so much.

    DJskeet Post in Gen

Ha, why do we mountain bikers always drink so much. Its like every time we go on trip we have to bring two kegs for just three of us. You never see skateboarders drinking a ton of alcohol.

    love this

Haha I was actually and still am drinking a beer as I read that. I would have to say because we are a society(bikers) that are chill in nature and, its all about having a good time. Riding my bike and going to races is the best part of my life, its with good friends and always a blast.

ha its funny that u mention that because every time i travel up to Omaha Nebraska to a friends local freeride spot we always just get plowed afterwards at his house. Another thing when i went to Oregon my friends cousin took us out and after every ride we stopped at the local brewery and picked up some frosties! I need to get my homework done so i can go drink some more beer.

Because a spinning bed helps drown out any verbal abuse we get from the GF/wife when we get home late. Same is true, if your head is planted face down in the toilet, kinda acts like a sound proof chamber.

Well I'm not into alcohol too much and I feel I'm much closer to a racer. Don't really understand drinking shitloads of beer. I like to have 1 or 2 from time to time but I really don't like being drunk and the hangover. It's also not the best thing if you are training (and/or on a traininng diet)

Crack heads would ride too, if they didn't sell their bikes. Alcohol is no excuse for ugly women, I've been drunk enough to see double out one eye, never have I woke up to anything like Shiver's angels, if I did I'd chew my arm off and slip out quietly rather than wake up the wildabeast.

aLCohol is awesome. I love living in a different country because of the light restrictions I bought a lot of wine for my parents when I was 14. Stood there, said what I was buying it for and presta. All the magical possibilities!

Agreed, nothing like a long soak in the hot tub with a lethal mix of bourbon and cheap cola in a Trek water bottle after a hard day shuttling.

skateboarders drink beer its just not a counter culture of their sport. beer and bikes go together like... well beer and bikes. nothing better than a nice shred session and a beer to follow.

Same reason kids who often spin around in circles when they are young to get dizzy generally end up using drugs of some kind, to get a rush of endorphines

Or at least thats what I use as an exuse as to why I love the spins drunk lying in bed...

Both weak azz beers....Try Wexford, Murphys Irish stout, Faxe, Delirium Tremens, Franziskaner, Bar Harbor Blue Berry Ale...the list goes on. American beers are horrible and watered down but easy on you when you drink mass amounts lol.

He's not lying either - last time I saw him he had thinned out a LOT - it was weird and creepy - what happened to the fat not-so-lovable over-posting pirate of old?

Cru's photo is really the best - and he does scary things on bikes with a LOT of jump juice in him....

Good work - I've used my downtime to good use as well (post Whistler shoulder destruction) - been hiking 3-4 days a week and now I'm back on the bike (fireroads only so far) and up to 25 mile rides - dropping weight and feeling pretty good - now if I could only get my shoulder back in line I can start hurling myself off of things again...

in the meantime good booze certainly helps...

i used to drink good beer. then i realized i could have two pbr's for the price of one good beer. I started to like pbr.

Then I realized I could streamline even more if i switched to good old hammunition (Hamm's) and now i get to drink an extra beer ever 30 beers! its rad.

Every once in awhile there's a sale on tecate, and those nights always leave me feeling so empty inside.

god its 7:17 am, i should be studying for a test, and i'm dreaming about beer....i can't wait till the weekend! (after this test at 9 am today, the weekend starts)

PBR, Holladia, Modelo, and Tecate for cheap-ish bear

Yeungling, Miller Lite, B-Light, Sierra Nevada for average price.

Guinness (love of all time), Newcastle, Toucher, and some other foreigners when I wanna treat myself.

ALWAYS have to have a couple cold ones after a ride, good or bad.

Beauty is skin deep but ugliness is to the bone. Face down in a pillow with the lights out will probably be easier on the beholding eyes and help keep those beers down.
