    4.5 hours from n.y.c.

    we are also in the middle of some big and beautiful mountains. one of the more beautiful places in the country.
    site of the 1932 and the 1980 olympics.

    there are 3 campgrounds within 2 miles ( 1 of them is 100 yards from the entrance) of the mountain in the town iof Wilmington, N.Y.
    there are also many campgrounds, lodging and tons of resaturants in Lake Placid 10 minutes fromthe lifts ( in all price ranges).

    I'd be coming from Cleveland, it's a solid 10 hour drive. But I might just do it on a 3 day weekend, that place looks killer!

    Looks good so far. Post more pictures of other trails and features so you can motivate me to drive 5 hours.

    Man, I defiantely want to get out there this summer. I just got back from hiking Marcy a few weeks ago. The whole time I was just trying to scope out how nice of a trail they could make on Marcy for biking. The rock faces are fun. I'll definately try to get out there soon.
