    White spokes

    Looking to build up a set of green subrosa rims and was considering white spokes. What are the options for to check on availablity? How durable are they, I mean, does the paint flake off? My wheels generaly last a while so wood prefer them to look reasonably good till they die.

    I know DT Swiss makes the competitions in white. They are almost triple the price though I think.

    Any bike shop can order them. Sorry... can't comment on durability. DT makes some good stuff though. And it says it resists scratches... If it's like their black spokes, the finish is pretty durable.

    Halo makes these powdercoated spokes... Though I'm wary of the PC being too thick to fit through the hub... and I had some SAS rims where the PC was not that durable.

    Halo Aura 14g (white) Spoke

    * Proof that bling white powdercoated spokes don't have to cost a fortune
    * Straight gauge stainless steel, durable coating resists scratches
    * Box of 100

    You could also do the "custom" build from Atomlab. I did the same setup (green/white) but ended up swapping out the rear hub. Unfortunately they only have one length of spoke...

    why limit yourself to just white when you could choose from white, yellow, blue, pink, orange, black, red and the standard silver.

    I build up a set of dh wheels this summer with the white DT spokes and they're holding up great. No scratches, as far as I can tell.

    They are bank though.....although, QBP has a 25% off right now, just saw that on a shop flyer. So if your shop is ordering them from QBP they aught to be able to give you a break a bit off the normal price, which is pretty exorbitant if you ask me.

    The length of the spokes will depend on the hub and the rim and the lacing pattern. If you don't know this, you probably should not build your own wheel.

    Well if he's going to cut you a good deal on labor, why wouldn't he offer some sort of discount on the spokes? And if somebody were cutting me a great deal... I would throw some money back their way.

    The problem with those spokes is you'll be buying an entire box, that's where the high cost comes in. I just went with basic black for my rebuild...

    I'm kina interning at a shop right now. I was looking at some dt spokes in white, think I'll pull out the white rattle can. On that website up above it's 3.25 per spoke and 50 are in a box. 10 hot dogs 8 buns.

    DT Swiss also makes Aerolites in white - mega bucks, though. In the UK they are over 5GBP each spoke.
