    Whistler Pictures

I was in Whistler this past week for the IMBA World Mountain Bike Conference. In between the conference I had a ton of opportunities to go ride, I also managed to dislocate my finger while riding up there.

Unfortunately no pictures of the mountain, but I did get some from spots on A River Runs Through It. Definitely more an XC trail type thing, but still fun, very pedally though. I got pics of many of the first things on the trail, the camera was put away early so no pics of the more elevated stuff. Anyway, fun stuff. Go there if you go to Whistler and want to do some XC type stuff or have time to kill.

Expect some great pictures in August from the actual mountain. (I'm going back again)

Here they are. I got a new camera, so hopefully these are a bit better in quality than usual.

Yeah, there was a guy riding a tandem by himself. It was cool watching him try the lower ladders. Definitely would have been tough to do.

    Where are you from?

Yeah, it was fun. Actually my second time in Whistler and 1st at a conference, though. Later this summer I want to try and ride some of the other trails outside the bike park. Should be interesting....

Thanks for posting those pics. "River" is a really fun trail, and yes it's considered XC-ish by most locals. Huge props to that guy riding the tandem. There are some really tight spots on that trail, it would be awesome to watch him ride it.

For those that are into well done trail work, it is a must do. I can't imagione the man hours to get that trail to how it is. Work of art. Your pictures don't even come close to doing it justice.

Yeah and the guy that maintains that trail and a number of other trails in the valley gets paid!

Seriously. Everything is extremely well built and there are tons more features than I got pictures of, they're everywhere.

We met the guy who was out there building and maintaining and it sounded like he did and does the majority of the building/maintenance by himself. But, yeah, a really nicely made trail. Check it out if you're in Whistler, even thuogh it is more XC.
