The ripping of my tires on the dirt when at high speed I apply the brakes, the sound of the chain clattering on the chainstay, birds singing on the woods, but the best, a slow breeze blowing through the trees on the morning...

We Fall, We Fall by Dead Celebrity Status gets me pumped to drive or ride. There's some Rise Against stuff I like. Oooh-Ahhh, by the Grits. Flipsyde. Some Lupe Fiasco. Some Kanye. Some Outkast. Some N.E.R.D. Brand New. Some Shop Boyz. Some Soulja Boy. Sometimes Junior Boys. Got some Triple Six, a bit of Project Pat. Throw Prodigy in just for good measure.

I like more rap and hip hop stuff while riding. I'm more into the rock and alternative when chillin.

word to that. I would also like to add that TI,ludacris, select bloodhound, heiroglyphics and sweatshop all get me pretty jazzed. especially on a practice run before having to listen to people blab.

    That goood sh1t.

    bluegrass-yonder mountain string band
good livetronica esque stuff-Sound Tribe Sector Nine, Disco Biscuits, Lotus

Basically anything I usually listen to. Anything fast is good. It depends what I'm riding too, I like a mixed playlist for trailriding solos with climbing and stuff.

Hellz yes...Swollen members are some good sh*t! I saw them live in LA for their Black Magic tour.

I listen to a little of everything, especially Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Swollen, Sweatshop Union as far as hip hop goes.

My rock music is stuff like Fort Minor, Linkin Park, The Bravery, The Faint, and maybe some Boy Sets Fire.

Oh and Crystal Method for the climbs...trust me it works.

Why listen to music??? It just slows you down. One of my bros is always slowing us up. He has to find the right tune... adjust the dang thing... fiddle with it when it comes loose... and he we have to retell stories all the time, because he missed the whole thing trying to fiddle with that shiz. Last you never hear the bike and the way it should function... when that bro has problems he can never ID it since he never heard it.

Playing it loud and fast only gives you the illusion that you are going huge and fast. Thats when 3' rolls turn into 15' hucks.

Ahh when I get tired of the birds making their noisy racket i usually like to listen to some soothing music, usually some light and soothing deathgrind metal. some of my fav's for "shreddin it up" include:

    Deicide - F*ck your god
Nunslaughter - waiting to kill christ
Hate - No life after death
Pig Destroyer - Genital Grinder/Regurgitation of Giblets
Carpathian Forest - The Suicide Song
Incantation - rotting with your christ
Vital Remains - let the killing begin
Diabolic - decending through portals of misery
Morbid Angel - bleed for the devil
    Death - pull the plug
Vaginal Jesus - fetch the rope

They really get me super pumped up to hit big dorps.

Jimi Hendrix, Rammstein, Run DMC, James Brown, classic rock, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Ozzy, Red Hot Chill Peppers, and any rap with some good beats and no yuh uh's

NO HARDCORE OR DJ STUFF OR POP OR CLASSICAL MUSIC.

Whether I listen to music depends on where I'm riding...absolutely no music while on either XC or FR trails, but I'll sometimes put on some earbuds while having fun around campus. What do I listen to? Metallica, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback, Swollen Members, ... Genre really doesn't matter to me.
