buy your self a roller. then if you don't have a road bike. put a racing slick or street tread if possible on your mtb and start pedaling. doing intervals help you become a better sprint n lets you pedal faster longer. Going to the gym helps with strength . Core strenth is important for balance and is were a lot of your power comes from so work on that 6 pack. bascily if you formulate a time were one day u do intervals next day or two u just pedal no intervals. then go to the gym maybe twice a week you should be fine. basicly try to do sumthin everyday. go for a run ride the rollers. play a game of B ball . go work out.
