    Suggestions for tire pressure?

I ride a Gary Fisher Mullet (dirt jump/freeride) hardtail. I was wondering what tire pressure everyone would recommend in different situations. I do urban, beginner freeride and jumping, and downhill. I live in Salt Lake and the dirt tends to be hard pack, sometimes loose on top and lots of rocks on the trails. Thanks for the help.

On variable terrain where I live I do 35 PSI. The terrain can sometimes be a little rocky and rutted, so I always try to make sure I got a good about of air in. It also is sometimes loose.

Tahoe/Northstar/Downie I run about 40PSI to avoid pinch flats.

    Wow, too harsh for me.
On my HT I run 20-30psi with ~2.5" DH tires.

Hey thanks now I know I 've been putting to much in. I was just tired of pinch flats, I think I just need some better tubes.

High pressures are good for urban and DJ, but don't yield the best traction for DH and FR.
Thicker tubes and/or tires are a good idea if you're pinch flatting a lot.

Running anything other than 23psi makes you a supporter of terrorism.

You don't want to support terror do you?!

    Correct you are.

I run 26psi, but I have "permission" from a "special government agency" in charge of spending US tax dollars on PSI Study and Enforcement.
