Road riders put their bikes on top of shiny $50,000 cars. But the average full-suspension rider puts his bike on top of a beat-up barely-hanging-together car that costs a fraction of what their bike costs. For them their bike is their life.

almost guaranteed those girls don't ride. Just cause they are employed by mtb companies, doesn't give them any adavantage in the eye candy department. They should try to get only girls that ride.

This roadie/XC guy showed another guy and myself around a park I haven't been to before. It was (for me at least) a mellow, slacker, check the place out kind of ride. You all know, ride to the top of the hill, safety break and an oil can lazy sunday ride. Later I hear from others how "my a$$ was kicked".

His hero is Lance Armstrong, Peaty is mine. Nothing wrong with Lance and I have much respect for him. It is just the difference in how "going for a ride" means different things depending on who you are.

I will be the first to admit that this whole thing is very stupid but I love that smile on Peaty face.

I don't ever ride with my partner. That's a good thing because his average is like 4 miles faster than me

don't take it as a sexist remark - i didn't ask my gf to ride with me and she didn't ask me to run with her. separate activities are a sign of a healthy relationship..haha

So long as they don't ride, then the only thing they have to do with mountain biking is that they are being paid to look sexy at MTB events. Sexy women selling things to stupid people is a strong tradition in the marketing sector but the mountain biking community managed to have very little of it for a long time. Its the same sort of "I have nothing to do with whats going on here" that pervades Auto shows and other events. If sexy women come to mtb events due to a genuine interest - whether they actually ride or not - then that is encouraging. At the end of the day, they are just models, you know, the stuff you kill kittens dreaming of who get paid to drag you by the penis into their trade booth. They should train those girls to wrench. Then they could get all greasy fixing bikes, and - looking the way they look - you know you would pay for it. It'd be like a bikini care wash but dirty.

In the end it isn't the girls I object to. I'm still your average hetero-male who loves his eye candy. What I don't like is that some people are treating them like they are special. They have no more to do with mountain biking than any other models out there, so why do we act like they do? We can't claim them as our own unless they were somehow actually involved or interested in mtbing.
