Socom on order but for now...

Got a socom on order for my gf and getting a new fork and all for it.
She is currently on a Norco Aline and the 888 on it is dying. It has a crack on the outside of the dropouts that doesnt really effect the fork but I still worry.

Should I put on the fork I wanted for the Socom on the Aline while I wait for my order?

I was thinking the boxxer team...

you'd date someone who'd let you ride on a cracked fork?
I'd like a socom, but I dunno if I'd like one that much.
