    Silver rims?

Who makes a decent rim in silver? Preferably some thing that can handle sguare edged rocks without denting, comparable to mavic.

    Comparable to mavic...perhaps mavic?

All kinds of new and used mavic wheels in silver.

I roll the Transition Revo 32 in chrome for the past 9 months and have been happy with them. I am about 230lbs. We have a bunch of ledgy, rocky stuff here in Central Texas. I would say i have gotten my moneys worth out of the rims.

Nuke Proof Generator aka MTX 29

    Generator Rims

A friend's riding their wheelset adn he rides quite aggressive (dh) and they have held up just fine. A few small dings after he ran his pressure silly low (10 psi) in a rockgarden. I was standing at the side and just heard *dingdingdingdingdingding* while he rode down, so it surprised he didn't get more than a single dent in the rear wheel. Comparable to EX721 I think.

Spank Spikes can be had in a polished silver look. Not sure how it compares to the Mavic.

You didn't say you don't want Mavic, so EX721. Weird because of the brake surface that nobody uses anymore, but other than that, they just work.

I had Sun MTX 29 rims on my DH bike. They lasted about 2 Whistler trips before getting a big bulge, and lots of minor flat spots, etc. to the point where it couldn't be trued anymore. I'm rocking Mavic 823s now and they have held up great so far.

I 2nd using Mavics, getting heavy duty oven cleaner (Easy Off), removing the anodization and then polishing.

How much more work did you have to do to get them to the polish finish? I guess I am asking how did they look after oven cleaner? I have had mixed experience with using oven cleaner in the past but I have never used heavy duty...

Also did you polish them to get them there?

    Ron,
The active ingredient is Lye & only found in the heavy duty.
Spray, leave 45 minutes, repeat, rinse with water & scrub with green pad. If the ano's not all gone, repeat. Then wet sand with 400# paper, and polish with Mother's alu polish.
These are Flows, silver was not an option, I was hurt, and unable to ride & time wasn't an issue. Took like two evenings after work, and now touch up every couple months to remove scratches - easy.
    Hope this helps,
