Show down in West Texas (pic heavy)

Shredding the mayhem. Carnage was the theme. 1 broken collar bone, 1 seperated AC joint, 2 nasty concussions, 1 with loss of vission, 1 hainus broken ankle, and a long carry out, 1 dead rat, consumed by WCH for lunch. YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM.

    West Texas???

Those shots look like they ALL came from a spot out here in SoCal. If I am reading correctly (which my stoned mind may not be) that looks like. Please correct me if I am wrong. Oh and by the way, those thinking the shots may be doctored...hell no! That place is crazy with some of the gaps and hucks on it. No joke. Those jumps in SoCal where the jump shots are from are big too.

That rock to rock gap with the berm right in your face as you land is ridiculous. Major bike skills needed to keep from face checking the boulder behind the berm. We know the guy from Giant who built that thing.

    It's no secret...

I'll take it out of the posts from now on but that **** is no secret. Everyone knows aobut that area and we've never had problems up there. I ride it at least once a week with my buddies and it's a great trail. I go up there to shoot photos as well.

    I've never been confronted...

by anyone up there about where I was riding. As a matter of fact, it's better because you are out of the way of hikers. Slow your roll, I won't let anyone in on your little secret. We've probably run in to each other a few times up there anyway.

For the record: Regarding the DJ spot. Signs are clearly marked "No Tresspassing." The owners of the land are not messing around. They currently are letting the locals continue to ride there because we aren't and have practiced certain responsibilities:
    We are not loud
    we don't leave trash
    No motors, or vehicles
    No drugs, smoking or alchohol
    We respect the area,
and we accept responsibility for injuries that occur.

One of the main opponents to the area can watch the jumps from his patio and calls the cops when he sees a group there without locals to keep everyone respecting the area. I have pulled up to see cops hassling people. It's an unwritten code- but it is real.

    Lies!

    Looks like Oklahoma to me.

Photos are the best yet. Next step - shoot in better light. I'm jealous.

Compare my hallowed west Texas trails in these pics to OK! That's blasphemy!

You know, John, those rock areas actually have some similarity to some stuff around the Witchita Mountains in western OK. They even used to have (or still have) a bike race around that area called "The 12 Miles of Hell".

$hit foolz, i drop that $hit the first 5 seconds i saw it, did a fat table then smashed my nuts and barreled full speed at SMT, WCH, and Swoopty. I've hit it a couple of times. The landing is nasty. It's not very big, but real harsh on the landing. It's prety much like a 10-12 foot drop to rock garden. WCH 360'd it.

    • Craig doing a solid drop...
    • Craig pushing back up, some cool scenery
    • Susan (or Suzanne?) doing the first jump on "that trail"

Thanks to all of those who rode with me, sorry I didn't get any pics of the session with .wch., SMT & Alloy in the afternoon at the "other place" but it was a blast. I'll be back, and will bring some more folks with...pics of SMT's crib (or what I like to call Casa de Bobalu - 5 Star Accomodations )will be posted soon...

And yes, SMT cooks breakfast every morning for his guests, and feeds them booze all night...and has a strange addiction to "My Name Is Earl"...and thanks for lunch, Alloy! Next one is on me...
