    quickie bike rack built

well after night class tonight my buddy and I decided to toss together a bike rack out of the spare 2x4"s he had so we wouldn't have to keep strapping the bikes up when we were trasnporting them. 35 minutes later we had this made up. ran out of wood after two slots. probably add two more later, but those big slots are perfectly sized for our gear bins so we might leave it.

oh ya..I have to thank Gabe(veggiefree I think) for the idea.

Close, it's Freeveggie...anyways.... what is your spacing for the tires?
On my rack, I used 2.5" and I have to jump up and down to press my 2.7" Maxxis in there...

well we used my specialed 2.6 to size it(bigger than maxxis 2,7. tried once and it was too narrow. I think we ended at 2 3/4" was pretty snug fit

The truck only seat 2. so we figured that'd be enough for now. we will probably add 2 more slots to carry our hardtails when we build them too.

The Dude: the blue/polished combo is uber fast and floats nice, The polished rear adds lots of control.

you should see my truck on weekends, 5 peeps crammed into the cab and the other 3 get the back with the 8 bikes......(only while shuttling)

when you flip them upside-down and alternate their direction, starting with the first bike flush with the cab, you'd be suprised how many bikes will actually fit in there.....
