    question about marzocchi integrated stem

Hey, I'm looking at buying an '03 Super T with integrated stem. It has a 6.5" steerer. My bikes head tube and headset is about 6.25", so I was wondering if it will work. Does anyone know how tall the clamp for the integrated stem is?

oh, and also how much it would run me to replace the steerer if it wont work

The stem actually bolts to the upper crown, so as long as you have enough steerer tube to safely install the top crown you should be fine.

probably not, .25" of steerer is cutting it way close, even for an integrated stem (crown).
I know in my heart that Ellsworth bikes are more durable by as much as double. AND they are all lighter...Tony Ellsworth

The steerer on an 03 super t is pressed into the lower crown which is cryofitted onto both stanchions so it may be expensive to replace. No idea on the actual price. call marzocchi. I don't have any exact measurements on the thickness of upper crown at the steerer but it's close to 0.25" if not a little bigger. It may work, but it would be very close.

it is an 03 Banshee Scream with an FSA Pig head set. I think I could make it work if replaced my head set with something shorter, but I think I'll just hold out for a deal with a little more steerer

I cut mine to short last year and Marzocchi put a brand new one in for $60. Just call them and they will hook you up. Hope this helps.
