    Put my deposit down=) YAY!!!!!

    Hey fellas,

I just went to my kinda lbs a few towns over and put a deposit down for a 2007 Specialized Big Hit frameset. I think this bike is exactly what I am looking for and I will save loads of money so I can buy more expensive components like Avid Codes and maybe syncros mentals. I am very excited and the dude recommended a large for my height of 5' 9.5' He said I can go medium but recommends a large for me when doing dh. The thing that sucks though is he said that my frame won't be available until July which totally blows. Idk why a large company like Specialized as these ridiculously long waits. Anyways, just thought I'd tell you guys for hanging in there with my crazy a$$

    Peace, Shredder111

at 5-9, and for dh, i think he should have told you a medium. most people use small-er frames for dh. i know myself, ride a large v10 and im 6-5, and its tight in the cockpit.

I'm still growing kinda and will be keeping this for the next 5 years so idk. He seemed pretty sure because he said incase I grow. He said I can always give him a call and change the size accordingly.

I would change the order to a medium also. I am the same height as you and large bikes are just too big.

If you guys think I should use a medium let me know and I will give the guy a buzz. Here is the chart info for reference to my current height. Bare in mind I am 16 and still getting taller so idk. I do like a larger cockpit though, I feel more stable, but it may be possible to accomplish that with a medium.

i'd say med. im an inch taller than you and run small but my next frame would be a med. it'll just feel better cuz you'll have handle the bike better and it wont feel like your riding a boat.

    you mean a ship...

yes, I am 6'1" riding a medium... I heart it..

as far as you saying you like a bigger big, yes... but at your height this will be way too big..

If you were 6' and liked a bigger bike, the large would be fine

actually i like a bigger bike for the most part.. but when i went and sat on a large bighit at 6'1" i felt stretched etc.. i even ride a large as-x which feels super fitted.

go with the medium.. unless you grow to about a billion feet high you should be golden.
