here ya go... first ride on it... still setting it up and all I got it about a week ago I couldn't pass up the deal at RS... half price w/ nice enough specs.

The wallride is fun, the drop is actually about 6-8' by the time you land (am 6' 6" so you get the idea)... and the jump is about a 15 foot gap. would have gotten some better pics but my sister wimped out on me and there was a T-storm coming our way... you can actually see the flash of lightening in the jump pic...

Can't seem to be able to post pics for some reason.... here's a link http://gallery.mtbr.com/showgallery....&ppuser=303311

I've been extremely interested in the 2006 Yakuza Bakuto as a trail/take anywhere my DH bike can't go bike.

    tacubaya,
Do you know how much the bike weighs stock and the weight of the frame?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Stock it weighs around 34.5 pounds, with my setup it weighs 37.5 lbs... I dont know the weight of the frame, but I would guess 6 or 7 lbs

Yakuza's are great bikes I once had one as my do it all bike. and woah, it sucked. The yakuza hardtails are much happier at the jump park and on long decents. anything FR or DH and the yakuza is there. But climbing those things is such a pain in the arse.

I went to a jamis komodo, weighs 32 pounds with a 6" manitou travis up front. and guess what...I can climb this one

again NOT trying to bash the yakuza bikes, because they're awesome. but they just dont make real good do-it-all bikes.

    now for the pronz

Did you see the gear I'm in and the height of my seatpost? I was just finishing a very steep 7 mile uphill..

Nah, I am just BS myself.... it can climb... not THAT hard but not easily.. If I didnt have DH tubes, DH tires, chainguide and 8 speeds maybe It would climb much much much better

I had mine with the 16 speed setup. A yakuza makes a Komodo feel like a mountain goat. But then again, I have never ever ridden a 6" travel bike that climbed better than the komodo. I think it might climb better than my old XC bike

I used to climb with a rigid GT and also with a Schwinn Mesa with a 80mm fork up front... damn those old times... but this one climbs okay for having a 170mm fork in the front and DH componentry...

Here is mine with the stock rear shock: Swinger 4 way 9x2.75

And with a slightly shorter shock, (dhx 5.0) 8.75x2.75

If you're not living on the edge you're taking up to much space.
