    OT/XP Removing/Replacing XT Hydro Levers?

Okay I'll try one more forum before I just bust out the dremel and make it happen...

Would anyone know how to replace the XT Hydro Levers?

I found a brief instruction on NSMB that explained there is a small fixing bolt on the pivot shaft. But even with that removed I cannot make the central pivot pin budge. Not with a mallet, or a wood press.

    Anyone done this?

    xt lever pin removel

Thats easy you just use a bigger mallet!

No seriously, if this is an earlier XT, remove the setscrew then use a punch thats larger then the dia. of the center of the pivot pin as those versions had a 2-part pin.

Could never figure out as to why but they did change it in later in the newer versions.

If you try to remove the pin all you're doing is pounding on that center portion of the pin. Use a larger punch same dia. as the outside dia. of the actual pivot pin and use a hammer instead of the mallet.

The pin WILL come out as all the force will be transmitted to the more solid portion of the (outer) pin.....vola! the pin comes out, just wack it good ( with a hammer)!

The newer pins are 1-piece and come out easier...and if it doesn't it will!

Don't be affraid to use some english..........
