They are basically a big hollow aluminum container so, yeah there will be some noise from that. Just crank up the ipod and everything will be fine

Wheel color depends on the rest of the parts going. I would say white would give it a really crisp look. I might have a set that I'm parting with too. They've been ridden twice. I have a black and a white set and one of them will probably need to go when my new wheels arrive.

    Dude, no ****...?

If you are honestly thinking of color coordination, you should probably have your girl friend paint some flowers on it too.

And if you are serious don't use outlaws. Does it have the floating brake?

Here on mtbr we like our bikes ugly! We use it as a weapon and when all your competitors are barfing in their mouth and screaming from the terror your rig couses you can safely cruise down the track for the win. True bikers don't need aestetic taste. Cheers, I'm going back to my cave.

people just are, no matter where you go.

just make sure what size rear hub you need with the floating brake some bikes need an off size hub.
then there is the theory that you don't even need it, Orange stopped using them at one point either on later 223's or the 224. It will save some weight removing it.
Good luck with it that is a great deal especially if it is in good codition. They build a pretty light dh bike, but like guys said they are a little noisy. BFD!
if you want more info on Orange contact the guys at Transcend racing team they have been running Oranges exclusively for quite a few years now.
I always wanted one, just never could afford a new one and never found a good deal.

Not everyone on here is like that, but I totally understand where you are coming from. I don't understand why some people feel the need to say anything if all they have to share are insults and BS to those seeking some real answers or feedback from other experienced riders. Just ignore the bottom of the barrel jackasses and pick out the good feedback from the people who really care about the sport rather than themselves. Good luck with the Orange. I have always thought their stuff was really cool, although I've never had a chance to ride one. Once you've figured out what size rear hub you need, let me know. I have a couple of extra wheelsets now that I need to find a new home for. They are all 12x150 rear though.

I'd ditch the floater. Especialy if it gives too much anti squat the bike will be diving in the front. That is not a nice feeling and if you learn how to brake not having it is not a problem. Hardly anyone uses them anyway and it's for a reason.

I don't have any personal experience with the Vanilla R, but it's definitely a step down from the DHX 5.0. It's still a dope frame.

No it will be OK. The HA will be a little steeper but not a whole Lot. It was designed around a 7" fork I think!

Tried one out with a Travis and I was very impressed. Once I'll be able to save some dough I'll get an 222/223.

    Nice and simple.

Saw one on PB for 300, but there's a weld on the swingarm due to a crack.
