Is the Norco atomik a trail-freeride bike???

I was looking at the norco website and thought that the norco atomik was a pretty sweet deal. So i looked into it and my LBS has it for a pretty sweet deal. I ride mostly in the don and another trail but both have quite a few steep climbs. I dont really like climbing but its always fun to challenge youself! well anywasy i have asked about the HTA and discovered that it has a slack head angle and doesnt sound like it would fit my needs... what do you guys think..after all you guys offer better advce then many if not most of the bike shops ive been in contact with, especially online retailers

heres the norco sites page on the atomik

    Don River?

if so skip this bike, it's for the ''shore and serious FR, the climbs and Ontario rolling hills'll kill you.

find an Enduro, I grabbed a clearance one, but because of the USD, the '04's are great value. The basic Enduro is perfect for you. It's not a huckster or urban assault bike, but it'll take a beating and the frame has a lifetime warranty.

Here's the Spec. site in Cdn form, the bike should sell for around $2300 or so. The specs on it are very hard to beat.

attempted edit: I forgot. Want a 6" bike (Enduro is 5") then this bike is new this year and will be a true winner, the design is perfect, IMHO. Made in Canada, so no duty hassles/distributors etc etc. It'll be a bit heavier than an Enduro, but this bike is a real contender for close to perfect trail bike IMHO.

so iask you guys this..really how much abuse can the enduro take? Im not the smoothest of riders either and ike to take risls and fall on my ass

by the way yes that don river trail system.

    Both of those bikes

will take you and your butt just fine. I'm 5'10 and 190 beating he// out of an Enduro in BC and no problem. just don't' abuse it, as with any bike, it will break.

I'm not the smoothest of riders either and like to take risks and fall on my ass

I have no idea what the above means? http://www.iespell.com might help? Have I corrected it OK?

did you switch out the shock?
Will i brake the shock by dirt jumping it/hucking stuff on it?

    here goes...

OK, your website has helped me a lot. I'm gonna back off and say yes, the Atomic is the bike for you. It';s going to handle your hucks and drops and mud and abuse. The other 2 have air shocks to keep weight down and are primarily trail bikes, the Atomic is designed for the shore, and will perform very well for you.

I've seen the new Atomic on the sales floor, it's excellent value. Make sure it fits, I think that's the right bike. check out Brodie's line also, make sure it's a 4 bar, but NORCO value is dang hard to beat.

    I don't "push" my Enduro

except up steeps I cannot climb. I use my Bullit for hard riding, I'm trying to learn how to smooth the trails on the Enduro, finesse and flow, not huck and slam.
