Very beautiful, and visually captivating, ....
But, I gotta say, Too much with the effects!!!!!!
After a couple of minutes, I was DYING to see some real-time footage. Literally made my skin itch. Very strange reaction I know, but it is what it is.
Again, that being said, some of the effects were very cool, and looks like you did some really good camera work.

ok, that rocked. id be down for more real time action though. its cool to see whats goin on in slow mo but not all the time. maybe a little closeup tossed in once in a while if ya have it. woulda been too cool to have zoomed full in on the guy pushin back up as the 2 team riders passed by at the 2:30 mark. maybe ya didnt have enough lens. i always saw stuff like that after the fact when i was shootin. many "doh!" moments but i was learnin every day and tryin to do a job my late brother in law woulda been proud of. he was a real artist with a dvc pro camera. rip rick krolak.

Good video, great camera work...way too many effects. It looks like you are trying to hard to mesh the video with the song. Try it the other way around and choose a quicker rythmic tune then cut some of the editing out.

    Suggestions:
    Alternate which burms are slow-mo
When ever they are in a straight line...let 'em rip, its what Downhillin is about.

The intro was by far my favorite part...very [dare I say it] Guy Richie-esque.

................Errrr.........ummmmmmmmm.....you have a slight problem. I watched all of your other videos: they all suffer from the same 'video has got to match the song' enigma. Still again, try it the other way around and if your looking to captivate THIS audience to the Nth degree, reference the "What do you Downhill/FR's listen to?" thread. Very few posts include Linken Park and Classic Rock. Not hatin' just sayin'.

slow mo is pimp...but maybe a little too much? maybe keep part of a clip fast, and then when it gets techy slow it down?
    oh, and for music...

What program are you using? What effect is that black and white intro? Is it in final cut pro? Avid? Something else? The video looked good, but the only effect that I didnt like was the "bubble" or maybe "lense" effect that surrounded a rider. Kinda like a magnifying glass thing.

the magnifing thing is caused by compresion and using a tecnology called pixel motion on the time remaping in AE
to get that effect I export an image seq in psd use bridge to run a script coverting it to vector based art as the same seq. I then reimport it into after effects and hit the Colapse transfromations button so AE re renders the vector every frame alowing me to scale it as much as I like. speling ya in ahurry

I agree with the limiting of effects. It was way too overused. I liked the end shots beginning at 2:20 or so though. That worked well. The jerky slow-mo, not so much. It takes away from the action and the viewer loses the engagement that smooth footage can bring.

The jerkness of the slow motion and all the footage is on Vimeo they are trying to improve that as it plays as a quicktime file on my computer it is like butter. the opening is a good example there is no speed change that is al art work vector files yet it plays back all jerky, the only thing I can do is lower the data rate of the file but if I go much lower the image really suffers?
Part of the reason I put some clips up while still editing is to see how they will play and look online

really enjoyed the video. Very well produced and edited. Other footage i've seen of bootleg makes it look absolutely terrifying but this looked way more fun. I'd love to ride out there if Im ever able to make a trip west with my bike.

There are some scary big drops if you follow some of the locals. The biggest gap I know of is on Ginger. Not sure of the exact length but 30 ft is in the ballpark (probably depends on who measures and how). The scariest stuff is just the overall rocky terrain and the speeds you can carry through it. Any mistake is gonna really hurt out there

I'd browse Myspace for amateur bands that would be stoked to be featured in a video.

It really is not a full edit I am still working on it so I put it up to get creative feedback while still editing. Also the race just tokk place recently and is time sensitive but to make it look good takes time. The fade out is because they are unrelated shots I have 300 shots I am processing!
