New question here. New step-up I'm building...

Im new to these and i have never done one. I was wondering how far the take off jump should be from the top of the table. I am NOT done so the take off jump needs about 3x's as much dirt. I laid a shovel across that is 3 1/2 feet to show you what ive done. Just need an estemate. The other demensions are 7 1/2 feet across the top and the hight of the table is 2 feet. Again, I am not done and the wood is not rotten, I need to saw off the ends.

i would say move that jump back about a foot. it's hard to tell though with the jump not being complete yet.

brace the center of those boards...they look dry rotted and look like they would break easily........move the jump back another foot.....soon you will have that about 8 to 10 feet back

Looks like something to bunnyhop to me.
you will need to dig down about 10 feet for that to be much of a step up. Your lip should be at least a few feet high, which will make what you have more like a step-down.
Maybe build your lip first next time, then it will be a bit more obvious to you.

Yeah I know its small. Ive never done one and thought i'd just build one behind my house in a little trail i built in this washed out area. The area is a bit small and so everything is sorta small. Im trying to tie it in with a wall ride. pix below...(of the wallride). The "step up" comes before the wallride. My main goal is to make a flowy little trail behind my house that I can try tricks and stuff on, so I don't have to ride so far away to get to it.
