new definition of freeride - wikipedia style

so check it out - i am in law school and frequently check the site wikipedia.com while in lecture to learn about some non-law related crap that is being discussed in lecture (i.e. hostile takeovers, etc.). just perusing this afternoon after class and looked up freeride - hilarious. check out the definition here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeride

wade simmons has his own entry as well.

Most of what was on there was ok, but did they have to lead with this???

"Freeride is a form of mountain biking involving riding free on a bike."

WTF is that supposed to mean? Now, that comment is really funny! Otherwise, I thought it was a pretty good definition and they didn't try to dumb it down too much for layman.

    Cheers,

if you dont like it, change it.

Wikipedia is a user submitted website and you have the ability to rewrite definitions, so get to it.

Remember when Cannondale tried to trademark the word "freeride"? That was when Rocky Mountian came up with the 'Froriders'. Anyway, had to throw that in for fun.

Your mountain bike hates its life as a road bike.

    Um.....
DH races are held in steep, downhill terrain, resulting in higher speed than in cross-country racing. The terrain is also often somewhat rougher than in cross-country racing.

Check out Mike Ferrentino's (Bike Magazine) opinion of Wikipedia:

"Nowhere is the howling whoosh of ******** heard with such crystalline turbine ferocity as it is in Wikipedia."
