    My Whistler Trip

Two trucks, five guys and five bikes head up to Whistler last week. It was a long ass drive....around 18 hours or so. I am so glad i brought my 6g mini ipod. A lifesaver I tell ya.

Anyways, got up there on early Thursday afternoon and rode Friday & Saturday. There was no Sunday ride since three people in the group were injured. We decided to go eat a good breakfast, do some last minute shopping and head home to California.

That was some of the best riding I have ever done. A-Line, Schleyer, Dirt Merchant, Freight Train, No Joke, Original Sin, etc. I am seriously ruined now....I will never be the same and am mentally scarred for life. I will never be able to ride Northstar again and not think about Whistler.

Day 1: While hauling ass down A-Line, buddy #1 is leading the pack and wads up hard on a table top. I have no idea what happend but he hit the ground hard with the bike landing on top of him. Bruised ribs, huge bruise on hip and a nasty looking most likely broken toe. That ended his riding for the whole weekend.

Day 2: I was on another trail but saw the video of the fall. Buddy #3 drops in on a nice big rock face and breaks his ankle. I can't remember what trail it was but it was at the top-top somewhere. Buddy #2 who is filming also falls on the way down and hamburgers his forearms. Myself and Buddy #4 ride both days without incident.

There was a pro bmx dj contest while we were up there. Got to see alot of pros like Nyquist & Nostazio. The bmxers threw down huge. Big back flip tail whips, 360's and front flips.

Also saw Super T Klassen and Gareth Dyer. Klassen looked like he was hurt since he had a cast or brace on his hand/wrist.

Well, that sums up my Whistler trip. Sorry there are no action shots.

    Pic 1: Cory "Nasty' Nastazio
Pic 2: Group pic-me on the far right w/the slant eyes
    Pic 3: My boy Scott
Pic 4: Just me and my baby(DHR)
    Pic 5: Red Bull Helo

    Sounds like fun.

If there's anything that's gonna keep me in Seattle, it's biking and boarding in BC. There just ins't any comparison to it anywhere.

Pretty common for folks to get up there and they're totally pumped/full of adrenaline and injure themselves on the first couple of days. Hell, I'm up there 20-30 days a year and I always have to check myself.....before I wreck myself (come on, you knew it was coming!). Seriously though, ratcheting it back on the morning runs when you''re not warm or early in a multi-day trip there is always the wise thing to do.

You guys will have to come back next year, just take it easy, eh?

    Chers,
    EB

What's that little line on your fork arch?

Hehe, kidding. Sounds like it was a fun trip (for you at least.)
This election is like a turd in a bag on your porch... whether its a blue bag or a red bag, it's still a turd on your porch.

My bud was up there. He was riding a o3 Stinky Dee with Junior T fork and Mavic D521 rims. His friends were riding Norco A-Lines.

Thanks. I am selling the Fly and the 888. I don't have the vid as of now. They are going to burn a copy for me when they get around to it.

Yeah, I got a DHR. It rides awesome. I can't get the days off for Mammoth. I had to take my parental leave before it expired. Kind of a use it or lose it deal.

Ha! I don't think I'll be invited again if I post the pic of the drunken speedo w/DH helmet & goggles dance. I do have a nice pic of the the beaten up toe. Kinda out of focus but then again after all the beer, so was I.
