    My New Bike!!

    The Komodo has arrived!

Still waiting on; Seatpost, Front Derailleur, Disc brake adapter and rotor. {if I dont buy completely new brakes} and possibly Loco rear wheel.

    Pics!

Fork is slack due to lack of headset

    The new toys!

The Zone is receiving a present too.

Everyone cheer and shout! Todd got another frame! woo hoo!

but in all actuality that frame looks pretty damn good. decent looking welds, interesting rear dropout areas, and it looks light, yet strong. definitely something to consider.

    I weighed it, 5.1 pounds.

and guys, I only have one other frame which is my MC

BUT I ordered a 15" Nashbar Steel frame for my dad to build him a bike, so soon there will be a schwinn frame laying around too. but if my dad ends up not liking mountainbiking, then I guess I'll have a ghetto jumper as well

possibly. I found a new set of BB7's for $120.00 or something like that on wheelworld. I would like hydros, but then you have to deal with bleeding and more maintenence. But thats not terrible either.

I don't think you posted enough pictures.

jk. have fun with it. but in the future, keep in mind that with all the frames and bikes you seem to have had, you could have probably gotten yourself a nice demo or vp-free. IMO, its always better to save up for the nice stuff rather than buying a bunch of average stuff just to satisfy your immediate itch. Not saying your bikes aren't nice, but think of the pimp-mobile you could get for the price of all of them.

back to topic: Nice frame, now lets see some action pics.........

He happens to ride his bikes pretty hard & at places that would make many popular Brand name frames cringe. He is a weeler dealer type person & does a fair amount of research beffor a purchase. He is argumentitive yet respectable & helpfull to others. Maybe you should join him on a ride sometime.

no, it would make it much worse. 9 speed sucks major balls. RD's come out of tune more easily and chains are weaker.

    looks nice!

    I Like 8spd too.

interesting you got a loose ball bmx headset though?! for the price of that plastic dvd, you could have upgraded to a sealed cartridge bearing unit.

edit: also, it's kind of ironic how you swapped an MC for the Jamis, who has newly "revamped" their FS line this year by using catalog ordered MC frames! Not related to your case in anyway, but just kind of interesting!

as far as the coming out of tune statement I would have to disagree...
but I am a big fan of 8 spd vs. 9... 9 just seems redundant..

I just dont want to pay a lot for a headset. my buddy has a chris king on his jump bike. with proper maintenence I find that the Pig works just as well. its not as bling, but it works just the same. Same deal with why I refuse to dish out more cash for a tompson elite seatpost. I saved myself like $60.00 by getting a Truvativ XR Double clamp, which is the same in design.

I had a komodo frame a few years ago, still my favorite hardtail frame I've ridden to this day. Light, never broke, could bunny hop the piss out of that thing (I think higher than the trials bike....?)

hey, you don't have to tell me about chris bling, I honestly won't purchase any of their products now, esp. for my steet/dj bike. But you don't need ck just to get a sealed headset! I went with a Solid bmx headset and/or FSA Impact (depending on app.) Also like my cane creeks, but there are plenty of other cheap ones out there other than a loose-ball.

yea, I bought a "chizel" sealed headset for the Zone. its OEM off a Kona, but I just dont see why sealed is so important. I've never had a problem with loose ball headsets. and I didnt want to spend the extra cash.

    I ride solo

look at my component spec and beefyness of the frame. plus it sees Blackrock often and Whistler yearly. not to mention all the other ventures that I dont bother to mention.

I dont need to proove that it is, because it already is. its like a santa cruz bullet. but with more gussets for strength and a stiffer rear end.
