    Mt Baldy?

Anyone know how long until Mt Baldy(in socal) opens up to riding? Are they even still doing lift access riding this season?

Take a look through this threads on Ridemonkey.

I went riding there last year. All you could do was dodge hikers while bombing down the fire road. Hopefully that will be changing soon.

Work is continuing on Mt. Baldy. We are currently at a slow stage where trails are being mapped and proposed to the Forest Service. Once we recieve FS approval we will begin the actual work of digging the trails. The key here is patience. We want Mt.Baldy's bike program to last for many years with new development every year. To give a very very vague estimate, it will be a couple of months before any trails are ready to ride.

You can find more information and regular updates at the AMBP website. http://www.ambpsocal.org

I think that there is a lot of potential for Baldy, and I'm planning to help anyway I can. However, as the mountain sits right now, it's nothing to write home about. Mammoth or North Star would be your best bet right now...

    ...

Im sure its not the greatest riding, just like its not the greatest skiing, but the reason i ask is cuz its only about 20 min from my house. So we can ride the lift up, and screw around up there right? Is there any singletrack, or is it just fire roads? Are bikes allowed on the ski runs, or do we have to take the lifts down?
