    Manitou Swinger 3-way

Hey whats up! Ok so here is the deal i have got a raleigh ram 1500. The bike is super plush in the rear but bottoms out. I put the shock into the 5 in position and it firms it up and makes it bottom but is definately not as plush. Now i have talked to a couple of people and have heard a couple of diffrent things. I have heard that if i was to get a shock pump and put more pressure in the air chamber it would stiffen it up. On the other hand i have heard that putting air in the chamber will not make it any stiffer, just make it resist pedal bob more. Which is correct?

    thanks

Adding some air will make it less sensitive to small bumps with the bonus of better pedalling efficiency, and will stiffen it up a little, but not a ton. If you are consistently bottoming, you should probably get a little heavier spring.

If you don't own a shock pump, you should prob get one just because if you run the rear shock with under 50 psi, you can damage it.

Yea definitly get a shock pump so you can adjust it depending on where you ride. If you need to make big changes then go with a new spring.
