... and if we just ... Mammoth Pictures

Newsflash: My website is about 1/4 of the way up. I have managed to load about 300 Mammoth shots and am working furiously to finish the rest. There's a few Brianhead pics as well, and Deer Valley and Fontana will follow.

The number before the dash under each photo is the plate number as best as I could identify. Let me know what you all think!

    Thanks.

Those crash sequences are awesome. That big guy on the second page looks like he went down HARD.......

Yeahh I got to see them Those are totally awsome. My favorite, meaning it made me cringe the most, was the crash sequence on page 4 where the guy wrapped himself around a tree.

Giggle! I agree with you on the background! I personally like more as well. However, my mentors on www.Sportsshooter.com totally blast me for having too much background. These guys shoot for the major magazines and media outlets (Sports Illustrated, AP, Reuters, etc.), so the real question is, who do you listen to? I personally try to crop each shot to suit the rider's preference if he/she places an order.

    Jody
PS. I just may post your comment on my SportShooter message board to show the big guys that background can be good!

i agree with the SportShooter guys, i think more background takes away from the intensity. it makes everything appear all laid back....

    tight pics.....

every shot is different. at the log chute thing on the bottom of the beg/sport course, i think the pics that show the knarled roots look best, like that one of sunnyracegirl. without the roots, it looks like just a trivial 1 foot log roll. but we can see from the carnage that section could bite if you got sloppy. i wrecked there twice during practice. and there were trees to crash into too, i met one rather close up.

i say screw the experts, there's no one size fits all, so trust your own camera eye.

That guy in the background is possibly the funniest looking person ever. I've been laughing for almost 10 minutes now.

any person thats that big (i would know) should be padded up like michelin man, cause every fall is a hard fall.

Hehe..saw the big man go down as I was heading up the lift for my run. Looked like a small nuke went off as there was so much dust flying. Props to him for getting back on it after that.

That section was definately tricky. I got claimed my first run down it and then figured out it was best to just point and shoot a straight line for the corner of the bottom log. Those roots got WAY scetchy by race day.

I am also using the 20d. been a canon guy for many years and already has some L lenes so it was a no brainer. it was hard to sell my Hasselblad to fund the digital move but i am dealing with it one day at a time. the animations were done in Macromedia Fireworks. You can also do it with Adobe Imageready.
