    lingo?

I was talking to some of my non-mountain biking freinds that i havnt seen in a while and after a few words about bikes they had no idea about what i was saying so my question is this

do us mountain bikers have aome weird subcontious language that only we understand because only we talk about bikes?

well if you talk about seshing a gnarly freeride spot with a techy rock garden half way down the run and the rest of the trail is littered with baby heads and step downs i would think your non biking buddies would have a hard time grasping the idea you are trying to get across..

well i dont sound that bad but doesnt it seem really easy to start talking that way?
it seems subcontious to me unlike skater lingo or the way parents try to seem cool.

It just makes it easier. Rather then explain that there are rocks "this" big all over the place you could just say babyheads. Or talk about that jump where the landing is lower then the takeoff you can just say step down. It's not really to be inclusive or sound cool or anything... any sport has it's lingo.
Speed has never killed anybody. Suddenly becoming stationary... that's what gets you.

    That picture's awesome.

Between bikes and snowboarding, my friends and i get the, "Are you from mars?" Look all the time.

"Dude, the Stone just got hammered. I heard they just put in a new kicker to, should be sick. Maybe once it's bluebird again we can go build a booter and shred some gnar."
One of my friends is way worse then me.

I'm sorry. To this day when I hear "spoon", I think of Crew riding out of that F'ing cereal bowl in Rad.

Mountain Bike Lingo:*An easy warm up on a fireroad can go bad when unexpected babyheads appear causing a pinchflat long before you reach the whoops and that can be a bigger hassle than an endo.”
Translation: A fireroad is a relatively easy dirt trail but if a pile of small rocks appear in the trail, you could get a flat caused by the tire compression on all the rocks which would make trying to ride through the dirt bumps really difficult and you might end up going over the handlebars in a visually spectacular fall.
