    Lift accesible hills

    Hey!! Im looking for the closet lift accesible dh hills to Grande Prairie Alberta. The closet one that i can find is kicking horse and it's 10 hours away.

    try looking for places that run a shuttle.

    Have you considered COP? Might be a tad closer, also, depending on what roads you could take, Panorama may be a little closer too.

    Golden/Kicking Horse is probably closest to you, then Panorama, then Fernie (probably no closer than Kamloops). Not sure about Jasper and west of there. I've heard Mount Seven, near Golden has some good DH runs, but it's a shuttle, no lift.

    Has anyone heard about marmot basin in jasper opening up for biking in the summer. It's a rumor that i heard.

    I would love for that to happen. I haven't heard anything about it though. It would be nice to save over half the time off of a trip to the nearest hill. I do remember talking to a park ranger about it last year, and they said there were no plans for the hill to be open to bikers, but that could easily have been changed. There was also a movement to open Rabbit Hill in Edmonton for biking, but the insurance companies didn't like that idea. Its most likely the same thing that happened in Jasper.
